EA announces Real Racing 3

During their Summer Showcase, gaming giant Electronic Arts (EA) announced its new game, Real Racing 3. The title will be developed by Firemonkeys Studios and as the name suggests, it’s a racing game with emphasis on realism. It is in development for mobile devices such as iPhone and iPad.

The game, even in its pre-alpha stage of development, looks stunning and just as good as any other HD game for the consoles. The Real Racing series was originally developed by Firemint Studios which has now been merged with Ironmonkeys and renamed as ‘Firemonkeys’.

Real Racing 3 will feature licensed cars such as Porsche, Dodge and Audi, including real-world racing tracks like Mazda Raceway Laguna and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, among others. Each race will have a 22 car grid, which is really impressive for a racing game developed for mobile devices.

The game is scheduled for a 2012 release; however, no specific date was announced by Electronic Arts.
