Motorola Unveils Its Newest ES400 Enterprise Smartphone In UK

New Motorola ES400 release in UKToday Motorola announced that their newest ES400, a rugged Windows Mobile smartphone will be released very soon. Motorola’s EMEA head of enterprise mobility products, Andy McBain said at the launch event on Thursday in London that some enterprises were showing “push-back” in opposition to the production of consumer-grade smartphones such as the iPhone and Android handsets, and were enthusiastic for new enterprise-grade handsets. The ES400 is operational on Windows Mobile 6.5.3. The device, disclosed on Thursday, is targeted for the consumers working in those sectors which are performing well which includes field service, field sales, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, utilities, transportation and distribution.

According to Kevin Burden, ABI Research’s vice president of mobile, this ES400 is a more pocketable device which is going to stick with a person all the time. Although the device sports a smartphone form factor, the ES400 is the advanced version to the devices like MC9500, which was used in field-work set-up such as signature-capturing.

According to McBain, the ES400 also matches the security standards for FIPS encryption and secure logon.
