Netflix Leads The Web-Video Market

NetflixAccording to a study, the largest global video-subscription service, Netflix has magnified its dominance over the online viewing market proving past predictions wrong according to which, newer plans would reduce Netflix’s market share.

According to the Global Internet Phenomena Report” released today, Netflix has well-established its dominance over it’s competitors like Amazon.com Inc., Time Warner Inc.  and Hulu LLC .

Shares of Netflix were up by 1.73  percent to $77.69  at 12:02 ET.

In the past one year, monthly use of internet over cable lines and phone has doubled in U.S. households.  Though, Netflix has a number of competitors but noe of them pose any real threat to it.

According to predictions form Sandvine, in the first-half of 2012, services offered by Netflix had peaked in the midst of competition from other competitors like Amazon Prime, HBO Go & cable and satellite providers. The report also suggested that, during the first half of the year, YouTube was the biggest user of bandwidth on mobile devices.
