Angry Birds Movie to Hit Cinemas in 2016

Recently, Rovio Entertainment celebrated third birthday of Angry Birds game. And to give a surprise to its fans, 30 new levels of the game were also revealed with an announcement of Angry Bird movie in 2016.

The game also updated itself to be completely compatible with iPhone5. Ofcourse, there is also an addition in the cast.

As far as the film is concerned, John Cohen, producer of Despicable Me, is taking charge of the production department. Former Marvel Studios chairperson David Maisel, Rovio’s senior adviser, will be the executive producer.

The film is still untitled, but this 3D extension of Angry Birds film will be released in mid of 2016.

Rovio’s CEO Mikael Hed appreciated the Angry Birds movie team by commending on John Cohen’s experience and David’s knowledge of handling a studio. He said that these two people make an ideal team for the movie featuring Angry Birds.

Cohen who has movies like Hop, Ice Age, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, Robots and Ice Age: The Meltdown, to his credit also appraised Rovio for devising new ways of keeping Angry Birds’ supporters busy and providing them a chance to interact with the characters.

However, the company is maintaining its secrecy about the plot of the picture. It plans to bear all the financial expenses in order to intact the creativity of Angry Birds.
