Archos Presents Platinum Tablets

Archos platinum tabletYesterday, Archos unveiled a new range of tablet computers running on Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The tablets come with a price range of $199 to $349.

Each device in the Platinum lineup boasts a ‘sleek aluminum design’. The tablets also offer high definition ‘IPS capacitive’ multi touch screens, CPUs running on quad-core 1.2-GHz processors along with 8-core GPUs with the capability of decoding 1080p videos. Among other features there are- RAM of 2 GB, cameras on front and back, as well as Micro SD ports and Mini-HDMI feature.

The tablets come in different sizes, from 8 inches to 11.6 inches.

The Archos 80 Platinum offers an 8 inch IPS screen with 1024*768 resolution. The Archos 80 Platinum will cost you $199.

Up next is the Archos 97 Platinum HD has a 9.7 inch IPS screen with a stunning 2048*1536 resolution costing $299. This same resolution is available in Apple’s latest retina display iPads and the Archos 97 Platinum HD costs 40% less than Apple’s iPad.

The last one is the Archos 116 Platinum with a massive 11.6 inch IPS screen featuring resolution of 1920*1080, priced at $349.

The Archos 80 Platinum and the Archos 80 Platinum will hit the market this month. The jumbo sized Archos 116 Platinum will come in April.
