The official release date of this game was April 27, 2010 in North America. Here you will get 199 of the 204 teams who participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification.

This game is specially designed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii whose demo version was launched on 8 April 2010. In the demo countries like Italy and Spain was included as the playable teams.  The latest two-button control method in the game play is intended to make it more accessible to players who are new to the FIFA series; it also facilitates to upload video replays to EA Football World. EA Sports have not released a PC version of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.

The game has got huge acclamation for introducing a range of soccer teams, better commentary. The game looks quire realistic due to superior quality animations. IGN gave the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game a 8.3, praising the game for its brilliant graphics and fluid gameplay. Game Rankings for the PS3 version given is 84.00%, while the Xbox 360 version scored 83.75%.

This month EA have released some updates for the game. The latest update contains authentic stadium hoardings used in the 2010 FIFA World Cup which looks almost real. They also included a kit that added real kits for Honduras, Chile and North Korea.

Hence players can have fun with extensive multiplayer functionality, alongwith local 4-player support (including co-op) as well as 8-player support online.
