Hewlett-Packard Plans to Dive into the Smartphone Market


HP is planning to make its way back into the smartphone market with the introduction of its two low-cost “phablets”. In the past, HP didn’t have much luck with smartphones especially those powered by the WebOS. After that setback, HP decided to pull the plug of their smartphone department. However, The Information has revealed that HP will be making an appearance in the smartphone market by introducing various 6’ and 7’ inch phablets.

Due to a very competitive smartphone market, HP will be aiming at the emerging markets and will price its products accordingly so that they can stand a chance. Sources have revealed that the phablets will be priced at a rate ranging from $200 to $250 without a contract. No information has been revealed so far on the configuration and specifications of the smartphones. It likewise stays a mystery that what mobile OS HP picks in its new cell phones.

It might be over three years since the organization last released the cell phone, as it shelved this project in 2011. From that point forward, there are bits of gossip about HP’s come back to the cell phone market, and more information is yet to be revealed
