Oculus Fans Not Happy after News of the Company’s Acquisition by Facebook

After news that Facebook is acquiring Oculus Virtual Reality for a whopping $2 billion, many of the virtual reality hardware firm’s fans are displeased and some of them have vowed not to use the company’s product.

You might have heard Oculus’ name for the first time through news of Facebook’s acquisition; however, the company’s virtual reality goggles known as the Oculus Rift are quite popular among gamers, although they are not available for consumers as yet.

Oculus Virtual Reality recently revealed during the Game Developers Conference last week that it would introduce a second developers kit of the product, which will take the user experience to a greater level.

The owner of Mojang Games and the creator of Minecraft, Markus Persson, who has also been a supporter of Oculus, tweeted that he has cancelled his plans of bringing a version of Minecraft to Oculus after the news of its acquisition by Facebook.

Facebook is arguably the most popular medium of social networking these days, having 1.2 billion users across the globe. Mark Zuckerberg’s company has been supporting many games on its platform but the hardcore gamers do not consider Facebook to be a gaming company, which is the reason why they think Oculus’ quality will suffer, although, Zuckerberg has promised that Facebook will not interfere in Oculus’ functioning.
