RIM Introduces Blackberry Playbook Tablet

In RIM’s Annual Developer Conference, CEO Mike Lazaridis announced the new tablet Playbook for the Blackberry OS Platform. This OS supports OpenGL and HTML5 along with numerous technologies. Mike said that this Blackberry Playbook Tablet will be a nice gaming platform for the publishers and the players. Along with HTML5, this OS supports Flash Content via Adobe Flash 10.1.

Some of the specifications include 7 inch multi touch display, dual core 1GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM, 3 MP Camera in front and 5 MP Rear Lens. The storage capacity varies from 16 GB to 32 GB. The Playbook comes with HDMI Port, microUSB Jack, Wi-FI and Bluetooth. The device weighs about 400 pounds.

The early predictions about the release date is not up to the mark, since RIM has no plans of releasing it before 2011. The Blackberry OS platform will be different from phone functions that RIM has offered till date. Lets hope this device will be another competitor for iPad.
