Next Xbox And PlayStation Not Coming Before In 2014

If you are expecting that the Xbox 720 or the PlayStation 4 to appear anytime soon, you will be really disheartened as a popular video game blog Kotaku yesterday reported  that Microsoft and Sony aren’t going to unveil the follow-ups to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 before 2014. One of the blog’s sources reported that Microsoft hasn’t yet planned which mechanism its next console will present when it finally launches.

If both Microsoft and Sony delay until 2014 to bring new machines, it would cause a remarkable shift in the way console makers have prepared launch schedules.

As per the record most console makers release new devices in every five years. For example, Microsoft, launched the original Xbox in 2001 and introduced its successor Xbox 360 in 2005. Sony’s PlayStation 2 was launched in 2000 and its follow-up console arrived in 2006. If Microsoft or Sony brings their next console in 2014 it would leave the devices on store shelves for nine years, and the PlayStation 3 for eight years, with no successor in place.

This is fine by me, been a gamer all my life. the years move so quickly now, seems like ps3 and 360 just came out yesterday.
games are finally rocking 4 both systems. Plus we dont need to be spending 500 dollars every 5 years on a new console.

im fine with that. Theres so many good games that are coming out anyways. The 360 and ps3 are just starting to be really popular. The only company that needs a new console is nintendo, and there coming with a new one out next year. i can wait for 2014 for the next playstation.
