OmniVision’s 8MP Mobile Camera Is 20% Slimmer Than Other Modules

Omnivision 8MP CameraDigital imaging specialist OmniVision has introduced a new 8-megapixel camera sensor that will be 20% slimmer than other available 8-megapixel modules. The OV8850 camera sensor will use CMOS sensor pixel to provide high resolution images with a reduce size of 1.1 microns and thickness of 4.77mm, this size will ensure the even more small smartphones and tablets.

OmniVision is a leading developer of mobile device imaging sensors that features the CMOS imaging technology to facilities the users with supreme image quality. OmniVision mobile imaging sensor known as backside-illuminated (BSI) was the part of iPhone 4.

The ¼ inch OV8850 is built on OmniBSI-2 pixel architecture, which allows significant improved image quality and power efficiency for the next generation smartphones and tablets. OV8850 offers a variety of cool features like advanced pixel design, on-chip temperature sensor, and two phase lock loops that differentiate it from the previous generation 1.4-micron OmniBSI pixel. Other prominent features are: alternate row exposure for high dynamic range (HDR) video and still image capture, and context switching.
