iOS 5 Beta 5 Is Released This Weekend

Apple reviewers have already started expressing their discontent about the features and also functionality available in the fifth beta version of iOS 5 that was released to developers this weekend.

Apple’s iOS 5, which is coupled together with the upcoming iCloud service, made its debut at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

Experts are even sating that the latest update has included fixes but no major new features.

But CNET’s Edward Moyer is saying that the release has incorporated a Hearing Aid Mode which is designed to enhance the compatibility between iOS devices and hearing aids.

The latest update also includes the speech recognition feature which is mentioned as Apple “Assistant,” which combines on-device and cloud processing to be equipped with natural-speech instructions and be capable to use various data sources to provide the best set of results.

However there are still some glitches. For example, the functionality is also not yet enabled, perhaps because Apple is yet to lock the final deal assumed to be in negotiation with Nuance, and as such the server-side processing is not likely to be prepared.
