Google To Acquire Motorola Mobility For $12.5 Billion

Google Motorola Today Google announced that it will acquire Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion in cash to increase its mobile OS usability in the smartphone and tablet computer market. This move will also help the Google to build up its patent portfolio.

Google will pay $40 a share, a 63% premium on Motorola Mobility’s closing price on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday.

This deal allows the Google to control on the patent portfolio of the Motorola Mobility that will definitely help the Google to boost the Android mobile OS.

Larry Page – Google CEO said that Google will run the Motorola Mobility as a separate entity along with the others partners who are helping the search giant Google in the success of the Android.

Despite the addition of the Motorola Mobility into the Google portfolio, Apple is the still is the biggest challenge to Google. At the time Apple is the leading the mobile-phone market with his top-notch devices like iPhone and iPad.
