Facebook Puts An End To Facebook Deals Product After Four-Month Of Trial

World’s largest social networking site Facebook launched Facebook Deals in the month of April. It was an attempt to put a fight against the daily deals leaders in business Groupon & the rival LivingSocial.

Facebook began making offers in 5 different cities & had a pretty small sales team making deals with the local businessmen. The company also gave offers to 11 of the other daily deal based companies which includes ReachLocal, Gilt City & Zozi.

Exit of Facebook signifies that Groupon now has one less major competitor as Groupon starts to prepare for an initial public offering worth $750 million in the later part of this year.

This decision of Facebook not to go with the business may signify that the company believes that the approach is short of merit.

On Friday it was made clear that, Facebook is now more committed in developing other products and services such as the Advertisements, Pages & the Sponsored Stories, that connects the local businesses with the prospect customers.
