Google Starts Google+ Pages, But With Some Restrictions

Just like Facebook Pages, yesterday Google starts another service called brand Pages on Google+. Google+ Pages have been launched to promote brands, products, companies, groups and others by creating a professional presence on the social network. But, according to Google+’s Policies, it seems that brand Page owners will not be allowed to host contests or promotions straight on the on the social network itself.

As per the Google+ Pages Contest and Promotion Policies set by Google, Page admins are notified that they may possibly not allowed to “run contests, sweepstakes, offers, coupons or other such promotions” on their Google+ Page. In its place, they can display a link on Google+ that directs visitors to a separate site where the Promotion is hosted.

In the Additional Terms of Service for Google+ Pages, Google has retained the right to remove or block Pages that go against these terms, or, in the case of repeat infringements, they can suspend a user’s Google account
