Idea Soon To Bring Its First Android Handset

Subsequent the lead of Vodafone with its 555 blue and Airtel’s Beetel phones, another major operator in India Idea is now planning to introduce its own flagship handset.

Idea in its endeavor to boost 3G usage in India, will aim the Indian budget smartphone consumers with its inexpensive Android smartphone.

Idea’s flagship handset, is anticipated to be Huawei Gaga, which is one of the four smartphones to be be arriving this year.

Himanshu Kapania, MD, Idea made an announcement that the company’s preparing to unveil 3G enabled Idea branded Android smartphones at the ‘Idea Earnings Conference 2011’.

The existing MTS version of upcoming Gaga, MTag 3.1, will boast a 2.8-inch HVGA screen and it will be running on Android 2.2 Froyo OS. The device will be equipped with a 587 MHz processor together with 256 MB RAM. The handset incorporates a 3.2-megapixel camera along with MicroSD that supports up to 16 GB.
