Samsung Modifies Galaxy tab Design After Court Ban

After the ban of Samsung’s tablet computer in Germany the leading manufacturer has redesigned the device to sustain in this highly competitive market.

The ruling followed Apple’s complaint that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 looked too much similar to the EU-registered design of its iPad tablet.

The South Korean firm confirms its redesigned Galaxy Tab 10.1N will be available for sale later this month.

The firm has modified the design of the metal frame and shifted the device’s speakers.

“Samsung decided to introduce this new version in order to meet consumer demand for our innovative and distinctive products,” according Samsung’s spokeswoman.

Experts are saying Apple may again wish to ask for a new injunction or claim that the revised device violates the existing court order.

The US company could not be reached for any comment.

Florian Mueller,a Patent consultant,  says it is uncertain if Samsung has taken enough steps to avoid a fresh ban since it is hard to define how far design rights broaden.
