Top 1% Mobile Users Consume About Half Of World’s Bandwidth

It has been found that one percent of the consumers in the mobile are consuming 50% of all the traffic. It has also been seen that top 10% of the users consume 90% of wireless bandwidth.

The statistics has been tracked by a company named Ariesco in Newbury, England. They tracked around 1.1 million customers of a European mobile operator during a period of 24 hours during the month of November.

The company has found that the gap between the high users and the rest is gradually widening. In the year 2009, it was found that top 3% of the high users were generating 40% of the traffic. In the present survey, it has been found that these users are pumping out 70% of the traffic. Company officials say that 64% of the high users had the habit of using a laptop, while one third have been found to be using a smart phone and around 3% uses their iPad.
