Zappos Data Hack To Affect 24 Million Customers

Online clothing retailer and shoes chain Zappos has announced that there is a security breach in their website, which has exposed the credit card details of some of their online customers. The hackers have also some personal information of the customers which include their billing and shipping address. As per the report released by the company, the hack has affected around 24 million customers.

Announcing this in their blog, Zappos said that their attack was done on a Kentucky data center and the servers which store the entire credit card and payment details did not face the impact. Zappos has now made it a mandatory for changing the password of all their online customers for full safety.

In the meantime, Zappos has decided to shut down their phone support lines and rely on the email message for communicating with the customers for the time being till this chaos is restored. The company authorities have further stated that, “We are cooperating with law enforcement to undergo an exhaustive investigation.”
