Nielsen Survey Reveals Apple Taking On Android

Nielsen Survey Apple Taking On Android Apple has good news. Though the giant Android has been persisting to dominate the smartphone world, those preferring iPhones are still involved in the list prominently, having almost half of the total smartphone buyers preferring iPhones in the last 3 months.

However, Results from the recent Nielsen survey reveal that amongst the buyers purchasing new devices in the last 3 months, 44.5% claimed to have an iPhone bought during the period. Last October, this was only 25.1%.

This may have an impact on availability of the Siri-driven iPhone-4S that arrived last year, though it picked up steam because people laid down their cash for the iPhone-4S anyway. 57 percent of those choosing iPhone said that they chose the 4S specifically.

On the other hand, Android still possesses the edge among the U.S smartphone users as 46.3% Android smartphone owners were surveyed in the 4th quarter of 2011 and 30% of whom claiming to have iPhone.
