HP Decides To Release WebOS As An Open Source By September 2012

HP WebOS Last month, HP announced that it would make WebOS available to open-source community. In an addition to that, HP disclosed last Wednesday that the full source code of the platform would be available to all by September & gave a probable timeline concerned the date of release of individual elements.

On the other hand, on Wednesday, Palo Alto company released version 2.0 of the developer tool of WebOS which is known as Enyo. Consequently, this has given the open-source community an instant access to the app framework for WebOS. However, Enyo 2.0 aids developers in writing an application that incessantly works across the mobile devices as well as desktop Web browsers.

“This is a timely attempt for materializing our goals of boosting up the development of the platform & ensuring that the entire web application based ecosystem receives the benefits the attempt,” Bill Veghte, the executive vice president & chief strategy officer of HP, unveiled in a statement.
