The International Trade commission of United States has dismissed a set of charges that was raised against Apple by HTC. The commission had not found any evidence that could suggest any violation of power management patent that was owned by Taiwanese handset maker.
Now HTC stands a chance for appealing this decision of the commission. If they chooses not to plead an appeal this would be the end of a suit that was first started at May 2010. HTC had five asserted patent violation complaints which is now whittled down to one after this judgment. This judgment echoes the determination of An Administrative Law judge who found Apple not guilty. After that HTC bought the case to ITC in December last year for a review. It is believed that HTC’s complaint is very weak and is actually a reply to apple’s recent complaint against HTC in March 2010. In November ITC dismissed another complaint about S3 graphics.
