Rumor has it–Next Xbox Will Be without an Optical Drive

Gamers have high expectations from Microsoft’s next gaming hardware to be released somewhere in the year 2013. The console of the next upcoming version of Xbox is said to have no optical disc drive. As a substitute, the new console will be made to sustain removable solid storage card. This will be a step ahead towards digital development. Although, the sources saying this are anonymous it is expected that Microsoft will be announcing the news somewhere in the current year.

This might be a huge development in the gaming technology; many gamers are not really pleased with the idea of going digital entirely. This will make the previously used technology and various games disks obsolete. People will no longer be able to use them. Let’s just hope Microsoft has some answer to this as well when they announce about transforming their previous technology. But, there’s a bright side to it too. With no more disk drives and disks, there will be less broken drives and no broken disks. Moreover, new cards will also save a lot of storage space on the shelves.

Unless Microsoft announces the news itself, it cannot be relied upon for being true. Although many software developers are also talking about the same stuff, we will have to wait till Microsoft speaks up. Till then, let’s play on the optical disk drives.
