Google+ Ruined Google, Says James Whittaker

Google+ Ruined GoogleOn Microsoft’s official blog, the former Executive of Google expressed his frustration about the performance of Google’s social networking site Google+. James Whittaker now works at Microsoft. He said that when he left Google, it was an advertising company with single corporate-mandated focus. He marked it as a demise of a corporate culture, and questioned Larry Page’s emphasis on social networking. He used to be passionate about that company and now is upset to see its failure against Facebook.

James Whittaker worked at Google as an engineering director from May 2009 till last month and then joined Microsoft as partner development manager. Whittaker feels that ads were always in the background but they all believed that Google is first and foremost a technological company who trusts on his employee and appointed them in places where they can innovate to add to the company. But somehow Google+ has ruined Google’s fast run.
