Enjoy Reduced Roaming Charges In UK This Summer

Reduced Roaming charges in UKThe cell phone users who are heading to the continent within few months will be happy to know that the recent attempts by the UK’s major networks have failed to reverse the cap on roaming charges.

O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone all worked collectively to try and get out of the three year old legislation which placed a limit as to what can be reasonably charged for calls when users are in a foreign country using another carrier’s network.

The laws were executed to “protect consumers against excessive prices,” in accordance with the European Court judges, who decided that authorities in Brussels had been approved when they decided to impose the limit in 2007.

Apart from this, it has also been made clear that further reductions in roaming costs will be executed from July.

As per the plan if you make a call from a European country this summer, you do not have to pay the 38 pence per minute, as the rate has been reduced to 32p. The price of answering calls is also being minimized, from 18p down to 12.5p per minute.
