Twitter Adds Places To Tweets, Messages

Twitter has now announced the addition of Places, Location to its tweets. This new feature lets users to tag their messages with their locations or favorite places. It is reported by Twitter that, this Places feature will be rolled out to users in 65 countries and hence the users must keep a watch on “Add your location” link, the Twitter Blog Post said.

Places is turned off by default. Users are required to enable this feature first using “Tweet your Location” Option. The Twitter places will contain existing database of locations which the users can add to their tweets. On the other hand, the users can also add their own location once the feature is enabled.

When a user tries to create a new place, Twitter asks the user to provide Name of the place and Address of the place, so as to easily organize places in the future. This Twitter Places are placed at the bottom of the tweet and it does not take place from the limited 140 character tweets.

By clicking on a place within a message, the users can easily know what other people are saying from there. Twitter Places are also available in mobile version.
