A Comparison Between HTC Evo 4 And Apple iPhone 4

Apple iPhone 4G and HTC EVO 4GAfter the launch of latest HTC Evo 4 and iPhone 4 so many articles have been published on the features of these duo, that it has become quite difficult to decide which one deserves better acclamation from the masses.

HTC EVO 4G has got a bigger screen of 4.3 inches while iPhone 4 offers better image resolution of  960 x 640. Both have dual camera feature but iPhone 4 has native support of video conference. iPhone 4 video calling feature only works on Wi-Fi whereas Sprint’s EVO 4G users have to pay $5 for the premium feature.

These are just few examples which show that the phone may be better on one feature but it may be lacking on the other.

The price is the most prominent thing which is same in both the phones. The price for both 16GB iPhone 4 and HTC EVO 4G is $199 with two years wireless service contract with the respective carrier.

Though it is quite obvious that each of them have got advanced technologies with superior user interfaces, but at the same time iPhone 4 remains a few steps ahead of HTC Evo4.  Now, let me explain why we came to such conclusion

Recently we got a negative feedback on HTC EVO 4G. People in different web forums are complaining about the new screen separation issue in the HTC EVO 4G. One of HTC EVO owner wrote online that “the funny thing is I did not notice the light leakage either until today, but I did notice that the bottom of the screen was not near as recessed as the top of the screen”.

Umm… you should get your facts straight. Both phones require software to do “video conferencing/chat”, and Evo gets OPTIONS, where the iPhone4 only works with it’s built-in feature.

The Evo’s feature is FREE on both Fring and Qik, but Qik has premium features available for $5, which includes high res chat (note: high res is HIGHER than the iPhone4 is capable of).

And while we’re on the subject of “facts”, that’s not an Evo 4G in the picture up top. Pretty sure it’s an HTC HD2 or HD7, which is almost identical, but definitely not an Evo. Evo has a silver speaker grill, only 4 capacative buttons at the bottom, a red rim around the rear camera and runs Android so it won’t have a Windows logo in the top-right corner of the screen 😉

And I can confirm that the Evo 4G will do video chat from a number of different pieces of software completely for free. Actually Qik and Fring are only the two oldest video chat offerings on Android. The new Skype coming to Android also supports video chat and there’s another one that I can’t remember the name of and will have to go look up.
