What’s Google’s Target: $499 iPad or $199 Kindle Fire?

Google TabletBloomberg yesterday reported that Google will unveil a highly anticipated tablet in the market for a price $199 at Google I/O. With this new 7 inch Nexus tablet in the market other manufacturers are rethinking about their strategy. Currently the tablet market is ruled by $499 iPad and $199 Kindle Fire. So who will be Google target? According to the report Google is looking for something big, they are after Apple’s iPad.

Another report published by Gizmodo Australia unveiled some details of this tablet, the tablet is most likely to run on the latest version of Android OS with a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor. To keep the price low Google’s plan was to use a cheaper memory and a low cost display.Although the price is low the design is not too bad, Nvidia’s Kai reference design was used to build the device and it has a power saving feature to ensure a long battery run.
