A district judge of California settled an injunction between Apple and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The judge decided in favor of Apple and ordered a ban on Galaxy Nexus in the US market. The Galaxy Nexus is one of first phones of US market to run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The judge Lucy Koh found out that this device infringes all four patents that are cited by Cupertino. The four patents are “unified search, also known as Siri Patent”, slide-to-unlock, autocorrect and data tapping. If the order is to be applied Apple has to post a bond of $96 million which will go to Samsung’s fund if they rule is to be altered in future. This fund is to fill the losses if the Galaxy Nexus remains absent in US market.
Although Samsung did not make any immediate comment on this rule but surely they would appeal to stay in the injunction.
