Activision has announced a new walking dead game based on the popular television show. The game will be a FPS action title and the players will assume the role of Daryl Dixon and his brother, Merle.
The story in the game takes place prior to the events depicted in the TV series focusing on Dixon brother’s journey to Atlanta in search of a safe place. However, the publisher has said that nowhere is safe for Daryl, as he journeys through Georgia in this new Post Apocalyptic world.
The game will be developed by Terminal Reality, the studio behind Ghost Busters video game. According to the description given by Activision, it looks like the game will feature survival horror elements as there will be limited amount of ammunition and other necessities. It was also mentioned that the players will come across and interact with other survivors from the TV show, but it will be up to you whether you allow them to accompany you or not.
The publisher also said that there will be different ways in which gamers can tackle the undead. Players can choose to confront them directly or they can sneak by undetected, with the latter option being a safer and easier one considering the scarcity of ammunition.
The game will be released next year on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
