Google Agrees On A $22.5 Million Settlement Over Safari Breach

Google's Safari BreachGoogle has agreed to pay $22.5 million to settle the browser breach lawsuit filed Apple. Apple claimed that the world’s most popular search engine has violated the privacy policy of Safari browser. A person knowledgeable of this matter said this settlement will stop the investigation over Google’s way of looking into people’s activity. Since the matter has still not seen daylight the informer declined to reveal his name.

However this is not the first time Google has infringed a browser, there has been a lot of talks about Google’s way of handling privacy policy. A student of Stanford University found out that Google is using DoubleClick ad network to look into Safari user’s activity. Since all iPad and iPhone users use Safari as their default browser so Apple had to take legal actions on this matter. In an emailed statement Google said that they have talked with FTC and asked to remove the ad cookies.
