Instead of saying 2nd Quarter, can they mention the Date in which they are planning to release the ICS for Galaxy Note. ?

If they don't release by 2nd quarter, there is no point telling that they are competing with giants like Apple and others with smartphone market.

After reading this article, I have to wonder if Ms Haley has actually ever seen an Android phone, or a Windows phone for that matter.. To take the points in order:

1. Windows gives you MS Office yes, but Android provides several choices, all of which are 100% compatible with MS Office formats, and most of which are free, so the user has more choice and more capabilities.

2. Yes Windows phones can sync with Windows PCs, most of the time anyway, but what about Mac or Linux users? Besides, Android phones sync just as well.

3. I suppose ease of use is a personal preference; for me the tiles look like a pre-school toy, or even worse, a return to Windows 3.0.

4. Advertisements or not has nothing to do with Windows versus Android; it's all in the applications. If you don't want ads, don't download an app that has them. Fairly simple...

5. How exactly does Microsoft ensure quality? Isn't this the same company that brought us Ms Bob, Windows 98, and Vista?

6. I'm not sure what "Fancy Hardware" means here; the Lumina has some pretty hefty specs; about the same as most modern Android phones. And as for Microsoft only releasing updates when there is a major change.. isn't this really just another way of saying they won't fix bugs until enough of them pile up? :)

7. This one makes even less sense than the others since Android integrates directly with Windows Media Player to synch your music if you choose to, or you can do it all yourself. How could it get better than that?

8. Integrated Social Media.. umm.. Android has had that since 2.3; nothing new or surprising here.. Windows just copied what Android did a long time ago.

9. The Lure of Windows Live.. hmm I can't stop laughing long enough to really write a response to this one...

10. Uniformity.. so a Windows phone made 4 years from now will run the same software as one sold today? hmm not very likely.. the lower end Android phones are typically push downs to enable them to be more affordable anyway.

All this is just my opinion. I am not affiliated with Microsoft, Google, Apple, or any handset or tablet manufacturer in any way, though I am a software engineer with 20 years of experience developing on multiple mobile platforms including Microsoft and Android among others.

This reads like a paid ad from MS. Many of your "points" are untrue and/or lacking in understanding of the feature you are describing. I would suggest you do a little research before posting your blog next time.

Great points. The main reason I don't like Android is because there are like 5 devices announced each week, practically. And most of them have junky UI overlays from companies that make them. If I ever got a Android phone I would only get the Nexus, but with windows phone there is no awkward/ugly UI it's uniform and looks amazing. I have a friend who as the Thunderbolt and he says Windows Phone is beyond awful, I agreed for a while, but now after looking at the integration with Xbox, Word, and Skydrive (all three are things I use practically everyday) it just makes sense to use it. I mean beyond the fact that Windows Phone looks amazing, and completely original, It just functions. I hope people realize the potential and more game/app developers jump on board. I believe WP7 has a chance at getting the third spot because RIM has little over WP7 now, only physical keyboards, Protection, and there servers, but everything else is done better with windows phone. So here is hoping 2012 is the year that Windows Phone takes off or even if it's 2013 it's well worth waiting because Microsoft really deserves attention for this one!
