Google Launches Android Wear

Google has launched Android Wear, a latest platform designed especially for portable gadgets such as smart watches.

Considering the expected increase in manufacturing of portable gadgets in the coming years, the technology giant believes that the introduction of Android Wear is an extremely crucial step. The new software and SKD will allow developers to make their products compatible to the new Android Operating System.

With the rising popularity of different versions of Samsung Galaxy Gear, Google is likely to launch its Smartwatch in the coming months. For this purpose, the California-based organization is working in collaboration with many companies like LG, HTC, Samsung, Motorola and a few chip manufacturers such as Intel, Mediatek, Qualcomm, Imagination and Broadcom.

Android Wear will let software developers make apps for the Smartwatch. Google Smartwatch and Moto 360 owned by Lenovo will be the first devices powered by the latest OS.

Made by LG, being the hardware partner, the Google Smartwatch is built of plastic in square shape with a stunning LCD touchscreen. LG has also made it clear that the watch has nothing to do with the Nexus brand.

According to reports, there will be more than 130 million users of such portable gadgets by 2018, bringing about a revolution in the mobile market.
