Amazon’s Kindle Fire Receives ‘Pre-Release’ Ice Cream Sandwich

Amazon’s Kindle Fire 4.0Android 2.3 Gingerbread is the version at which Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet comes at. Developers are trying their best to make it compatible to the updated version of Android OS.

JackpotClavin is one of these developers. He has released  Ice Cream Sandwich i.e. Android 4.0 for Amazon’s Kindle Fire. It’s solely based on CyanogenMod 9. But, updating right away won’t be a great idea as it’s just a pre-release and supposedly a buggy version.  JackpotClavin released this version just so the other developers can make efforts to fix all the bugs. Some of these bugs include SD card issues. The pre-released updated Android OS is unable to recognize SD cards as storage memory of Kindle Fire.

No access to SD Card means that any App which requires reading or writing data from the SD Card won’t be functioning properly.

So, it’s a wiser decision to sit ack and wait for the bug free version.
